Alok Pal( name changed), a 44 years old man lives in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. He has 4 children (3 sons and 1 daughter).

Unfortunately due to lack of sanitation and hygiene facilities at his village and home, he lost his wife to snakebite while she was out for defecating in agriculture fields with other ladies of her village. In year 2015, 3 years after his wife’s death he migrated from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh with his family as he got a job in flour mill.

His two youngest children- both twins 11 years old now (were 6 months old when his wife died). Both are now studying in school, his son lives with him while his daughter lives with maternal grandparents.

He along with his two Sons works in a flour mill. For the past 6 months he was facing vision problems; difficulty in concentrating his works as well as managing his routine activities.

At ICARE Hospital he got diagnosed for cataract and was assured for free eye treatment. Although his two sons are also working but they didn’t have enough savings to spend towards his eye treatment. Seeing his family financial condition he was operated for cataract (right eye) for free of cost and after surgery his vision has improved and it is expected to improve further over a period of time.

After sometime he can resume working and hence help contributing towards family income and also manage his daily routine activities easily.
