Sunny( name changed), a 7 months old baby boy stays in a jhuggi in Delhi with his parents, grandparents and one elder brother (2 years old). A beautiful smile comes on his face when his parents calls him and tries to play with him; however he cannot see or recognize anyone. When his parents noticed that something is wrong with his eyes they went to several doctors within their reach and later came to our vision center in Tahirpur, Delhi. From there he was referred to our base hospital ICARE, Noida; where during eye detailed eye examination he was diagnosed with congenital cataract and was advised to undergo cataract surgery of both eyes.

Sunny was at risk of losing vision if left untreated. Sunny’s father, Om Prakash works as a labour and could manage to earn a monthly income of Rs 10,000. He is the only sole bread earner in a family of 6 members. It was difficult for his father to afford his son’s eye treatment. Sunny’s both eyes have been operated followed by two cataract surgeries. With donors support we are making a difference in many lives.
